Melinda is an experienced insurance litigator who helps insurers resolve CTP claims involving complex liability and quantum issues.

Melinda is an excellent negotiator and assists clients to achieve early resolution of claims when that is the best course of action.

As a skilled advocate, Melinda represents clients in interlocutory proceedings in the District and Supreme Courts and in assessments before the Motor Accidents Authority. She frequently has matters before the Claims Assessment and Resolution Service.

Experience

  • Melinda works mostly with insurers providing CTP insurance to NSW motorists and self-insured corporations.
  • Melinda also works with NSW insurers in defending personal injury claims against occupiers and contractors, which involves advising on the indemnity extended under public liability policies for both homeowners and businesses.
  • Melinda also has previous lengthy experience managing NSW workers compensation claims and is therefore well experienced in identifying issues which may arise in section 151Z recovery matters.
  • Most recently Melinda has been involved in an application to the Supreme Court of NSW for administrative relief from a decision of the Proper Officer of the Motor Accidents Authority.
