Current Practice

Natalie is joint Lead Partner of the firm's Environment & Sustainability practice.

Natalie is a property lawyer who specialises in all aspects of development, planning and environment law, acting primarily for institutional clients, property developers and large corporates. Natalie’s experience includes:

  • property due diligence, sales and acquisitions;
  • land contamination including advice, management and defence;
  • development approvals;
  • planning advice and compliance including in respect of Aboriginal and European Heritage and flora and fauna protection);
  • water law;
  • property acquisitions and disposals;
  • rates and land tax objections;
  • land valuation; and
  • compulsory acqusition.

Experience

Natalie has a broad client base and practice that focuses on development approvals, environmental compliance and litigation, rates and land tax objections and property transactions. Natalie regularly acts as an advocate before VCAT and at planning panel hearings.

Natalie has acted for a number of participants in the resources, petroleum and petrochemical industries.  She has advised on the environmental issues associated with manufacturing and industrial operations in Victoria, as well as other states. Natalie has been involved in a number of significant proposed acquisitions and mergers in the resources industry over the last 10 years including in the power, petroleum and LNG sector.

Qualifications

Natalie has a Bachelor of Arts and Graduate Diploma in Public Policy from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from LaTrobe University. She joined Hall & Wilcox as a partner in July 2010.

Natalie commenced her law career at Blake Dawson where she remained for nine years before accepting a partnership at Gadens in 2004.

Natalie was instrumental in founding and sourcing the funding for "Youthlaw" - Melbourne's first and only CLE dedicated to providing funding to young people.

In 2003, Natalie was awarded the inaugural Victorian Women's Lawyer Achievement Award.
