Current PracticeJannaha advises on all aspects of migration to Australia, with particular emphasis on employment related migration. She assists with complex immigration issues and manages the practical aspects of preparing and submitting visa applications. Her strengths include:
- providing strategic advice to businesses seeking to bring in skilled expatriates to Australia to work, train, take part in exchange programs or conduct academic research. This also includes implementing efficient procedures to meet the needs of larger businesses with a high reliance on overseas personnel;
- developing risk strategies for businesses to comply with sponsorship obligations and assist businesses in formulating appropriate expatriate human resources policies and employment contracts; and
- developing tailored solutions for businesses and individuals in relation to employment, business, skilled or family migration as well as resident return and citizenship matters.
ExperienceJannaha has eight years immigration experience in the private sector. Prior to commencing at Hall & Wilcox, Jannaha worked as a migration consultant in the Global Tax Assessment Services/Migration Services practice of large commercial accounting and relocation assignment management firms. Her recent experience includes:
- successfully assisting offshore companies in sending key staff to Australia to establish representative offices or to fulfil contractual obligations to Australian clients;
- managing high volume temporary and permanent employer-sponsored visa programs on behalf of major banks, financial and educational institutions, labour hire and contract management firms, information technology, mining and engineering firms;
- strategic planning for bringing in workers, trainees and business visitors to suit short term and long term objectives;
- providing immigration compliance related services to meet business needs, including review of corporate policies and employment contracts to ensure consistency with immigration laws;
- advising and training key stakeholders on best practices and assisting businesses with monitoring by immigration authorities; and
- handling a wide range of skilled, family and other non-employer related visa matters.
QualificationsJannaha has a Bachelor of Arts (Languages & Applied Linguistics) from Griffith University and has been a registered migration agent with the Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA) since 2005.
Jannaha is a member of the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA).
