Desiree acts for financial institutions, insurers, private companies and individuals with a specific focus on banking and finance.
Her recent experience includes:
- acting for banks in relation to
- the enforcement of commercial equipment finance agreements, mortgages and unsecured debts;
- disputes which have involved fraudulent third party cheques; and
- proceedings involving the misappropriation of funds by company directors;
- misleading and deceptive conduct claims arising out of sales of properties and businesses; and
- taxation disputes against the Commissioner of Taxation concerning GST and sales tax issues.
She has appeared in the Federal Court as junior counsel in relation to one such dispute.
