Values
Hall & Wilcox's values are the principles and attitudes in our daily work. They are not aspirations in the things we will try to do, or would like to do. These are the basic minimum standards for everyone. They are simply "the way we do things around here".
We measure everything we do against how it helps our clients meet their objectives because this is the true test of whether we are providing the best possible service and advice. This means that we listen to our clients. We are prepared to put ourselves in our clients' shoes. We are passionate about our clients and representing their interests.
We meet or exceed expectations and always do what we say we will do. This is what clients expect of us. This means they can rely on us. We meet our clients' agreed deadlines and we communicate clearly at all times.
We work collegially and in teams because good teams achieve more than the individual ever can. This means we have a spirit of partnership and collaboration, our partners/senior lawyers and management are expected to be team leaders, and we recognise and reward firm and team performance.
We take a commercial approach to our work and the services we provide because this is what differentiates us and what our clients want. This means that we understand our clients' business and industry and understand what is important to our clients. We take a commercial approach to establishing client engagements and pricing our services. Our written communication is clear and concise and where possible in our client's language. We take a solutions focused approach.
We are committed to excellence in the services and advice that we provide because only firms that provide the highest quality services and advice will prosper and consistently meet or exceed client expectations. This means that we provide outstanding client service. We are continually improving our skills and expertise. We provide high quality documents consistent with our style guide, and we are committed and we adhere to our quality guidelines and principles.
We are committed to the long-term interests of the firm because we are the custodians of the firm and the firm is greater than any individual. This means that all clients are the firm's clients. We are enthusiastic about the firm, its clients and its people. We use the language of "we" and "our", rather than "my" and "I". We always prioritise the firm's interests above our own.
As professionals, we adopt high standards of competence, ethics, responsibility and independence because it is our duty, it is in our clients' interests and it builds our reputation. This means that we adhere to high ethical standards and preserve confidences. We understand and respect our duties to the Court, our clients, the firm, professional colleagues and each other.
We treat others with respect and dignity because it is on this basis that the firm's strength is built. This means that each person's role is respected and appreciated. We learn each other's names and keep our doors open. We show respect and consideration for others.
