Overview

The Hall & Wilcox Planning team has broad experience in providing advice on the planning and other developmental controls applicable to a specific project, and implementing strategies to obtain the necessary approvals. This may include, as applicable, working through all planning related matters, including heritage, water, flora and fauna, acoustic, traffic, urban design and landscaping and appearing at VCAT and before planning and Environmental Effects Statement panels.

Experience

Examples of our experience in this category include:

providing all of the planning and environmental advice and advocacy in respect of the establishment by Woodside of its LNG plant in the Otways;
acting for Telstra in relation to planning appeals in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania for in excess of 10 years;
acting for numerous property developers in respect of obtaining planning scheme amendments and planning permits, including most recently:

acting for CSR in relation to the re-zoning of Chirnside Park Golf Course for residential purposes; and
acting for Cedar Woods Limited in respect of the development of Williams Landing.

acting for APA (Gasnet) in respect of planning issues associated with pipelines;
appearing at VCAT appeals on behalf of private developers in respect of broad acre subdivisions, commercial and industrial developments and residential towers developments across Victoria;
strategic advice on growth area planning; and
defending clients in environmental prosecutions and advising on environmental liability.
