Employee privacy: rules, regulations and rights

Privacy in the workplace is regulated by a range of laws, with the level of protection varying greatly depending on which laws apply to the different workplace practices that impact on employees’ privacy.

Alison Baker, Partner, and Rhiannon Nixon, Lawyer, will assist with navigating this complex area by discussing the impact of privacy laws on the employment relationship, focusing on:

  • the handling of personal information about employees;
  • employee health information and medical reports;
  • surveillance and monitoring of employees;
  • drug and alcohol testing of employees; and
  • employee recruitment.

This presentation will be relevant to all staff in a workplace that handle employees’ personal information, including human resource professionals, in-house counsel and managers.

We look forward to seeing you there.
