We are committed to our Traineeship program because we recognise that today’s Graduate Lawyers are tomorrow’s leaders of the firm. Over the years, it has been proven that our Traineeship is highly successful, with many of our partners having completed their Traineeship (Articles) with the firm.
We offer our Graduate Lawyers:
- Supervised Workplace Training (SWT) - this is one of the ways we differentiate ourselves from other mid and top-tier firms, many of whom now enrol their graduates in Practical Legal Training (PLT) courses. We strongly believe that offering our Graduate Lawyers extensive on-the-job training through the completion of SWT will equip them with the necessary skills, firm knowledge and practical experience.
- Extensive induction – Graduate Lawyers undertake a two week induction which prepares them for the year ahead.
- Opportunity to gain experience in many of the firm’s practice areas through our rotations (4 x 3 months) and to make an informed decision about which area they may be interested in practising following completion of SWT.
- Extensive support network including a buddy (usually a 1st year Lawyer) to assist with the transition from university to full time employment, a mentor (usually a Senior Associate) in each rotation and a Supervisor (Partner) to provide guidance throughout the year.
- Opportunities to work with great people at Hall & Wilcox at all levels!
- Regular learning opportunities including weekly lunchtime training sessions which are facilitated by Partners and Senior Lawyers who are happy to share their personal experiences as well as discuss their practice areas and provide technical training.
- Ongoing feedback (both formal and informal).
- And last but by no means least - an opportunity for Graduate Lawyers to immerse themselves in the great culture at the firm and to have fun!
