Current practice
Frank’s practice focuses on:
- direct taxes;
- international structuring and taxation;
- business transactions;
- corporate restructuring;
- taxation disputes (including pre-audit, audit and litigation); and
- the not-for-profit sector.
Clients and recent experience
Frank’s clients include private and public companies, small and medium enterprises, high net worth individuals, family groups and not-for-profit organisations. His recent experience includes:
- advising on the restructuring of a publically listed company, in particular, the ability of the company to utilise carried-forward taxation losses and the effect of a debt forgiveness;
- advising on the taxation implications of a substantial property development in Victoria;
- drafting several complex private binding ruling applications and liaising with the Australian Taxation Office in respect of these applications;
- the establishment of a prescribed private fund for a high net worth family and providing advice regarding its ongoing operation;
- the establishment of a number of not-for-profit organisation; and
- managing a complicated taxation dispute on behalf of a taxpayer in relation to a multi-million dollar amended assessment.
Qualifications and personal affiliations
Frank has a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University.
Prior to joining Hall & Wilcox, Frank was a taxation consultant at chartered accounting firm KPMG.
Frank is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and the Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association Limited and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia.
